I just wanted to thank everyone for the cards, letters and support my family and I received after the death of my wonderful mother, Nancy Candell! Our family was very touched by all the kind words, loving thoughts and flowers! Bless you all! Ann Sessions Executive Director =============================================================================== Volunteers of the Year Awards Each year since 2000, the Guild has recognized various volunteers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty for the Theatre Guild. The certificates are presented at the Annual Meeting/Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. This year's recipients are JJ Brunner, our "stylist," and Tim Haigh, our "electrician." Both JJ and Tim have not only volunteered for nearly every show in the last few years but have put in extra hours beyond that of the productions to help out the Guild. JJ has helped in the Guild office, in the costume shop and generally made himself available for all types of projects. Tim is a junior at Regis High School who has been helping us since he was in middle school. He is a "tech" wizard who loves working with sound and lighting and we couldn't be more pleased. In fact, the Guild is lucky to have so many individuals who are not only talented, but also willing to give up many hours of their "free" time to produce our wonderful musicals and plays! We are completely dependent on all the volunteers who come out to work on our shows, including the cast, the director, stage manager, music director, orchestra, choreographer, master carpenter and crew, set designer, lighting and sound designers, costumer and sewers, prop crew, hair and make-up designer(s), photographer, back stage crew, box office help, committee members and the twelve Board of Directors! Whew! Thus the decision to pick some and not others is a difficult one and sometimes a person is "saved" for the following year for one reason or another. Below is a list of award recipients: 2000 2002 Dave Kording Jim Mattson Gary Polden Don Rosentreter Jim Mueller Katie Schumacher 2001 2003 Sandi Barsamian JJ Brunner Clare Whelihan Tim Haigh Pat Williams Thank you to everyone who shared their talents with us these past 23 years! =============================================================================== A Christmas Special Production: Babes in Toyland The Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild is proud to announce that we will be performing the children's classic, Babes in Toyland, at the historic Mabel Tainter Theatre in Menomonie this December. The Studio programs includes workshops and classes for children (pre-school through high school), a middle school drama club, the Golden Trunk Players (our traveling high school improv group), an expanded summer youth drama camp and the children's production in the summer. The venue for these programs will be varied and include Kjer Theatre at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center and Christ Church Cathedral's Community Room. The Theatre Guild will be expanding the education committee to oversee the above programs, so if you are interested in joining the committee and would like to help expand our drama education programs for children, please call the Guild office at 832-7529.
